Combat Tips

Key techniques to master the controls system.

  • Perfect Block: Time your block (F) exactly when an attack lands for a counter-attack window.
  • Dash Cancel: Use Q to dash out of combos or create distance when pressured.
  • Guard Break: Some styles (Wrestling) have moves that pierce guard — watch for the Takedown passive.
  • Combo Extension: Use M1 chains into Heavy (R) for maximum damage. Capoeira's Flow State extends combos after 3+ hits.
  • Height Advantage: Taller characters have longer reach but bigger hitboxes. Shorter characters are harder to hit.

What are the default controls in Gakuran?

WASD for movement, M1 for basic attack, Q for dash, F for block, R for heavy attack, T for activate style, B for execute, V for carry, Alt for phone.

How do I do a perfect block?

Press F (Block) at the exact moment an attack hits you. This creates a counter-attack window where you can follow up with a free combo.
